ONGOING RESEARCH
"While learning the biochemistry I also research sociology and environmental psychology. I am in search of a link between the science, physics, social science and philosophy of olfaction and how all the pieces fit together." declares Tammy
The philosophy of olfaction is as much a part of my creations as the scents themselves. Before I work with a raw material I research its history, horticulture and location for context. I spend time at botanic gardens learning from professors in biodiversity with the view to incorporate South African flora.
I am committed to the principles of biodiversity that aim at alleviating the impact of agricultural activities on the environment. Primary goals are the protection of the ecology, the protection of biodiversity including the preservation and rehabilitation of indigenous vegetation, the extermination of aliens and the responsible use of available land.
